Abstract

An alternative view of drug receptor interaction, which is inspired by the alternative view of enzyme reaction of Dewar and Storch is proposed. It has been suggested that dehydration of receptor site should precede the interaction of drug with receptor. The dehydration step has hitherto not been considered in literature.

Abstract

Transport through liquid membranes generated by vitamin D₃ in series with a supporting membrane, has been studied. The data have been obtained to show the formation of liquid membrane in series with the supporting membrane. Transports of cations, glucose, and phosphate have been studied in prssence of Vitamin D₃. The data on the modification in the permeability of cations, glucose and phosphate has been shown to be consistent with the reported biological actions of vitamin D₃.
